Dr Price's addition of Dr G.
Dr Gillenwater is the person you would meet that would do what she does for free if she could. Everyone she meets, every patient and every client, she wants to help them. Her heart is so big. She's always an advocate to give people their options and empower them to help their pets in a way that they can do.
A person truly meant to be a veterinarian.

Dr. Ashley Martin
I grew up in Star, North Carolina. Being raised in a rural area sparked a lifelong love for animals and agriculture. I went on to complete an Animal Science degree from NC State in 2015 and then continued on at NC State to earn my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. I spent my first year out of school working for a mixed animal practice in Yadkin County. I've been here since June of 2021. Outside of work, I enjoy horseback riding, art projects, and gardening. I also enjoy visiting family back home, as well as spending time with my dog, Jack. I would love to owner a small farm some day.
Addition to Bio from Dr Price:
Dr. Martin has also started to learn to rope cattle from horseback. The cowgirl skills are some of my favorite things about her. There is nobody that is more thorough with details of cases and your pet's care. Its incredible to watch.
HOWEVER, Dr. Martin does not like when I hug her. When we get through a case together or take something big on, I am a physical touch person. I would really like for someone to take a picture of her face during the times she let's me hug her. I want to see the expression she is making.....

Dr. Devan Nealy
Dr. Nealy is local to Eden, North Carolina and has had the childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian her whole life. She began volunteering at local veterinary hospitals at twelve years old and fell more in love with the profession of Veterinary Medicine. She received her Bachelors in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2018. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year of Veterinary School at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. During her clinical year at Texas A&M, she was able to experience both small and large animal medicine. Her veterinary interests include preventative care and managing internal medicine cases.
At home, Dr. Nealy married Adam Richardson in October 2023) and two Double Doodles, Marshall Yancey and Tucker Flint, that she loves spending time with. She has since added River, another Doodle to her family! In her free time, she likes working on projects around the house and working out. She is very excited to start her career in veterinary medicine and learn as much as possible from her colleagues.
Dr Price's Addition: I'm so happy Dr. Nealy joined our team. Her communication skills and ability to see someone's struggles through their eyes is fantastic. I aspire to have her ability to communicate so well.
Oh! Don't forget her Toxic Trait: The first to get people to stop work and go to get Mexican food with her

Dr Mindy Price
Dr. Price is a Wisconsin native that moved to beautiful North Carolina in 2013. She started her career in veterinary medicine working in emergency medicine and then moved to working as a mixed animal practitioner. In her free time she loves working with her sheep, cattle and border collies. Her border collies love helping her around the farm. They also love working on training for herding with the sheep and cattle. Her daughters; Juniper Faith, Jordan Parker and Brinley Rae; and son, Augustus James, come to work often and get a chance to see lots of cool things every day. She's not sure if their eventual teachers will appreciate the stories they will likely share from this or not!
She was honored to be voted as the NCVMA's Young Veterinarian of the Year for 2015. She had to take out the "recent" in front of the previous sentence and now she's too old to be considered a "Young Veterinarian" anymore, despite what she thinks about herself. Being passionate about veterinary medicine, she has been honored to have served as a District Representative in the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.

Sirena Bass
Sirena was born and raised here in Stokesdale, NC. She grew up around all kinds of animals. Always having plenty of dogs and cats around the house she has always been a animal lover. Being the neighbor of Janette and Dr. Oglesby and good friends with their two children Robin and Dana increased her exposure to horses and other farm animals. After high school she started cleaning houses then one day walked in Stokesdale Veterinary Hospital to get her dog Isaac a bath, and got offered a job as a kennel tech but since has worked her way up to a veterinary assistant and now is the Practice manager.
Sirena lives with her husband, Hayden, their daughters, Avery and Emery, and 8 dogs and 4 cats!
Extra after her bio:
Reasons I love Sirena:
She's always there for each person on our team. She helps to be sure everyone is accountable for their share and is the world's best Point Guard to our team.
She's a great advocate for all senior pets and loves all things debiliated and handicapped. Her heart is bigger than this world. (Even bigger than my (Dr Price's) excessive personality!). No, but seriously, Sirena is the epitome of what our hospital stands for. We are so lucky to have her.
Her common joke:
Sometimes she comes and lays an application on my desk to another vet clinic.
If you're another Vet Clinic looking at this because she's applying to your clinic, hire her. You would never regret it. I'll just be in a ball somewhere crying though.

Ashley Gibson
Ashley has been a Stokesdale resident since 2013. She has a 7 year old son, named Wyatt; two dogs, Kadea and Gunner; and 3 cats, Larissa, Cayde and Shiro. She moved to Stokesdale with her boyfriend, Zac after graduating from Morehead High School in Eden, NC in 2012. (Her and Zac are now married!) She grew up raising all kinds of animals fom cats and dogs to rabbits and mice. Occasionally she had a couple of reptiles and some farm animals too! She knew from a young age the veterinary field is where she wanted to be and has taken a few college courses. But, she felt the college she was attending did not offer enough veterinary courses, but plans on pursuing a degree in veterinary technology in the future!
Dr Price on why we are lucky to have Ashley. Her ability to stay calm when clients are in the midst of a crisis or upset is awe-inspiring. I swear there could be bombs going off around her and she would just take a deep breath and continue.
She wants to save any and every animal. It's why she's so good at her job.

Ashley Ferris
Ashley is slow at writing me a bio so I'm keeping this one up until she does so. It is written by me, Dr Price
Ashley loves emergency medicine, difficult surgeries and is a great teammate to rely on. She is full of stress just to the right degree and is so great in surgery to ensure patients have the best care. She also has an incredible memory and specializes in all orthopedic and difficult cases.
She can be a ball of stress and sarcasm. These don't' seem like the best combinations to be in a person, but they really and truly are. They make for nobody to better advocate for your pets. Once you love her, you want your pets under her care now and forever. She is currently in school to be licensed and has such a knack for everything medical and surgical.
Brandy Smith
Hi, my name is Brandy, I have been in the Veterinary field for about 4 years now, this was always the job I wanted growing up. I always had animals growing up, along with my grandparents' farm animals which consisted of lots of cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys. I have 2 dogs (Sugar and Luna) and 4 cats (Kaira, Ember, Gypsy, and Nyx) and my boyfriend has a pet snake named Rocky. In the past I have had guinea pigs, hamsters and a chinchilla. I am trying to learn as much as I can about animals and this field to better help you and your pets. Dr Price's addition: Brandy is our quiet partner with strong empathy for your animals. She is absorbent to all things happening around here and always there when she's needed! I would describe her as an introverted extroverted introvert. She secretly loves to be around people who also like to be around people and not be around people at the same time. I know that sounds weird. But it's in a good way. And I can say that. Because I am too? Is that still ok to say? Well now, this got really weird. I should backspace this. But I'm not going to. Because I know Brandy is smiling at it and that makes us all happy. |
Lexi Boyce
My name is Lexi. I have a huge passion of pet education and health care. I enjoy working with clients and helping them in understanding the needs of their pets. I currently have two cats of my own and love helping my Grandmother take care of our pug. My end goal is to be a fully registered veterinary technician and to work in wildlife rehabilitation. I look forward to working with you and your pet.
All things Lexi from Dr Price: Lexi is into cat psychology and WHY cats do what they do. She also likes geriatric medicine and is into smoosh faced pets and how to better care for their health.
So if you're an old Smush faced cat pug, please make sure Lexi is assigned to your appointment. You will NOT be disappointed.
But seriously, Lexi is passionate about learning and we are so happy she's with us. If I'm in a mood to vocabulary nerd out; she's my girl!

Miranda Fogleman
Miranda has been in the veterinary field for 11 years. She's worked in emergency medicine and in general practice. She enjoys working with all things beagle! (Isn't that clear by her photograph!). She particularly enjoys critical cases and helping to monitor and manage them closely to help bring them back to their wagging, happy, loving selves!
She lives with her husband, Jake, 2 beagles; Lainey and Junebug, her cat Reggie.
Dr Price's fun fact: Miranda was one of the people I first worked with here in North Carolina. She was supposed to be a temporary hire here at Stokesdale Vet Hospital. While she doesn't work full time here anymore, we have refused to let her leave us. We perform frequent rituals on a doll that looks like Miranda to make her miss us when she's gone so she will come back.
Makayla Isley
Awaiting her bio info
Dr Price's addition on Makayla. Makayla is a quiet force. A huge mistake anyone could make is understanding this girl's potential and her ability to help educate them on how to better care for their animals.
Toxic Trait: Having allergies that make it look like she's crying. She may get awkwardly hugged when hugging is NOT her thing...If only her teammates would learn! Especially the doctors..can't teach them anything!
Allie Holston
My name is Allie. I have a dog named Zeus and cat named Penny that I love very much! I went to school at Stokes Early College High School. I look forward to serving you and your family.
Dr P's addition:
Alli has an attention for detail that is unsurpassed. She's new to the team but you would never know it. She fits in seamlessly and not only picks up information, but retains it so well.
Toxic Trait: Fitting in with this team. I'm still not sure its a good thing?
